A secure and sustainable energy supply is of vital importance for both the population and the economy in Switzerland. Looking ahead to the winter of 2023/24, it remains important not to waste energy. In order to prevent a shortage, the Federal Council wants to increase the security of energy supply in Switzerland. One of the measures is the campaign of the Departments of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) and the Federal Department of Finance (DEFR) to reduce energy consumption rapidly and significantly on a voluntary basis. This requires concrete measures and a joint commitment from everyone: civil society, the economy and the public authorities.
